Bed Bugs Control

Bites from bed bugs have to be treated and cannot be left without being seen to. This is because the itching continues over a period and often only starts a day or two after the person has been bitten. This is because the saliva of the bed bug which is injected into the person has an anesthetic affect and also an anticoagulant. This allows the spot to bleed while the bug feeds on the blood and the person is not aware of the bite because of the anesthetic. The itching starts after the effect of the saliva which is the anesthetic has worn off. Because of the intensity of the itching people often damage the skin with their nails or even by scratching with other sharp objects.

Instead of damaging the area further it is best to wash it with hot water with an antiseptic in it and then to apply a topical cream which has an antihistamine or cortisone so that the itching is relieved. If the reaction to the bite is severe then it is always better to consult a doctor who may also prescribe an antibiotic if infection has already set in.

Bed bug treatment is not only for the areas which have been bitten but also for the clothing and bedding which is infested with these bugs. Care should be taken that they are thoroughly cleaned and all signs of the bugs removed. Clothes can be frozen or put into hot boiling water so that the bugs are killed and there is no further chance of infestation. Sprays with insecticide should be used on the furniture and the remaining clothing so that all signs of the bed bugs are eradicated completely. If required you can get professional pest controllers to come in and have a look.
